The Woodland Grasshopper is one of several small grasshoppers with red markings on the abdomen. The male is very dark with bright red markings on the abdomen. The female is usually brown and green, and may lack red colouration on the abdomen. The species is found in dry localities, often with heather. It occurs along the coast from Østfold to Vest-Agder Counties.
