The Wart-biter is one of the largest Norwegian Orthopterans. The body and wings are green, reddish, brown or grey with darker mottles. The species is found in meadows and pastures, usually close to the ground. The species is distributed in the Østlandet, Sørlandet and southernmost part of the Vestlandet regions, but seems to be in decline.
