The Bow-winged Grasshopper is a medium sized species with very variable colours. It is very similar to the Common Field Grasshopper, but they can be easily distinguished in the field by the song. The species prefers warm localities, preferably south-facing, sun-exposed slopes with sparse meadow vegetation. It is distributed in South-Eastern Norway north to the northern parts of Oppland County, and along the coast of the Sørlandet region.
