Chorthippus apricarius is a medium sized grasshopper with usually uniformly brownish colour. It can be separated from similar species by the widened medial area of the fore wing. The species inhabits various grassland habitats, both drier and moister. It has not been recorded in Norway, but is distributed in southern Sweden.
