The Mountain Grasshopper is a relatively large grasshopper with usually reduced wings. The body is often grey or brown with black markings, but can also tend towards green or yellow. The species lives in the alpine zone and is found in warm, south-facing slopes above the tree line. It is widely distributed in alpine regions across Norway.
